I had heard about these tees from an interview with the inventor in Golf Magazine.I happened to see them for sale in Sports Authority.I needed tees anyhow and they weren't much more expensive than plain-ol' wooden ones so, I got them.I really like them.I remember the article said in their tests they found the ball went 10-15 yards further and I have to say, that's about what's happened to me with these things!I DO hit the ball longer - I have had some of my best drives ever with these tees!It's kind of hard to put them in the ground - I don't know why they don't use a firmer plastic but - maybe that's necessary so they will give when you drive.I haven't broken one yet, and I love not littering the ground with all my busted and lost wooden tees!Pros:
- Price, not too expensive
- Longer Drives
- No more littering the tee boxes
Cons:
- Flimsy, sometimes hard to put in the ground
** UPDATE 7/15/2009: After using these for quite some time, I have some other "cons":
- After only a few uses, they remain bent.Hard to sort of straighten them out yourself to re-use.
- These scratch up your clubs big time!More so than a wooden tee, that's for sure.My driver now has some major scratches on the bottom from these things.If you've got a new driver you are still baby-ing, don't get these.**
I recommend these.Get them as a gift for someone you know who golfs - I bet they'll say "You know, I've always wanted to try these..."
